During mission trip
- General
- Max participants:
The participants will be capped at max 24 or 39 people per mission trip (2 Nissan vans or 3 vans). The team will be filled up based on the needs of the team and/or on a first-come first-serve basis. Please inform the leader or pastor right away if you cannot join the mission trip. - Punctuality:
Please carefully read the schedule outline and be on time. Because of the tight schedule, the team will stick to the schedule as outlined. - Respect & Teamwork:
Please treat your brother and sisters with full respect. We will need to work as a team. We are going on a mission trip to love and serve one another. - Responsibility:
Each member will be assigned different responsibilities and roles. Leader, please make sure you come prepared with your tasks. Members, please follow the leaders’ directions and make sure you are aware of your responsibilities. - Use common sense
Please be aware that we are travelling to a foreign territory as a missionary. We are NOT on a retreat or vacation. Please exercise common sense and be aware of your surroundings. Always pay attention to the leaders. - Passport and Greencard
Please make sure to bring your US passport or Korean passport with valid visa (e.g. green card) Please make sure that your passport have at least 3 months before it expires. - Release of liability form
Please complete the release of liability form and return it to the leader/pastor before the trip.
Minors (under 18) will need to get the form filled out by parent/guardian. - Communication with parents/guardians of minor
We will have a open katalk chatroom as a way to communicate with the parent/guardian. - Dress code
Please dress appropriately.
No tight clothes - shorts, pants, sweaters, etc.
No low-cut tops - necklines should be modest.
No halter-tops, tube-tops, etc.
No sleeveless shirts.
No visible underwear.
No skirts.
Shorts are okay. No short shorts. (Stand with your arms by your side. If your finger-tips are touching your skin, then your shorts need to be longer)
No flip-flops. We highly recommend that you wear comfortable close-toe running shoes.
- Transportation and drivers
- Safety
We cannot stress enough for safety. Please use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. If you are not sure about anything, please ask and talk to the leaders. - Van maintenance
Pastoral staff and head deacon will perform regular maintenance on the vans before the trip. - Private car and auto insurance
Separate mexico auto insurance is required whenever travelling to Mexico. Please talk to the leader and pastoral staff beforehand. - Crossing border
- Pit stops, meal break schedule
The team will accommodate restroom breaks as needed during the trip. However, members will not be allowed to roam around or purchase food/items during the course of the trip.
- Cash and reimbursements
- If you need to purchase items to be used on the mission trip, please ask the leader for budget/allowance.
- Please submit receipts to the leader/treasurer after any purchase.
Team Meetings
- Frequency
During off-month, we will hold meetings on Saturday morning 8-9 am to discuss any topics related to the mission. - Spanish Language training
We are hoping to teach basic Spanish in order to effectively communicate during the mission trips. - Feedback
